One Dead, Three Injured While Riding in Truck Bed | News
A 31-year-old Coeur d'Alene woman was killed and three others injured yesterday in a one-vehicle crash in Clearwater County. According to the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at milepost 40.5 on Forest Service Road 250 just before 5:00 p.m.
According to a news release, 32-year-old Logan Galloway of Superior, Montana was driving a 1994 Dodge pickup upriver when it drifted to the right and rolled down an embankment. A passenger, 20-year-old Leandra Baldwin of Deborgia, Montana, was also inside the cab and was uninjured.
Galloway was transported by helicopter to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. His sister, Hannah Galloway, succumbed to her injuries. She, along with her 6-year-old daughter, Madison Clarke, and 30-year-old Anthony Clarke - all of Coeur d'Alene - were riding in the bed of the pickup at the time of the crash. They were airlifted to Lewiston with unknown injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
Assisting on scene were Weippe and Pierce Ambulances, Timberline Rescue, Back Country Medical Helicopter out of Orofino, two Life Flight Helicopters out of Lewiston, Forest Service employees, Forest Service law enforcement, and the Idaho State Police.
