Bosom Buddies provides mammograms for women in need | Events
The Women's Imaging Center at Gritman Medical Center is offering free screening mammograms for women in need as part of its Bosom Buddies program, which covers the screening cost for women who are unable to afford the procedure.
A doctor's referral is required to receive the free screening mammogram and recipients must receive medical care in Latah County. Payment for the service comes from the Bosom Buddies Fund
Early detection of breast cancer by mammography leads to a greater range of treatment options, including less-aggressive surgery and less-aggressive adjuvant therapy.
Idaho has the lowest number of women ages 40 and over who get a screening mammography and clinical breast exam.
Mammograms are scheduled at Gritman's Women's Imaging Center each weekday. For more information about the program or scheduling an appointment, please call the Gritman Medical Center Women's Imaging Center at (208) 882-5377
The Bosom Buddies program is replenished each fall at the Pink Tea, an annual fundraising event now in its 12th year. Donations are accepted throughout the year.
