Moscow Farmers Market opens Saturday | Community Spirit
The Moscow Farmers Market opens for the season on Saturday, May 3rd. Opening day features live music and a special artist signing from the designer of this year’s poster.
Here’s more on opening day of the farmers market from the City of Moscow:
Join us Saturday, May 3rd for the Moscow Farmers Market on Main Street and in Friendship Square in Downtown Moscow! The Market runs from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. May through October and features live music, fresh local produce, delicious homemade baked goods, specialty food items, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers, and quality handmade crafts.
Music: Live music at Friendship Square will be provided by Palouse Jazz Project at 9:30 a.m.
Special Events: Local artist Carrie Lynn Kyser will be signing copies of her design of the 2014 Moscow Farmers Market poster from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; the Palouse Prize Ride featuring bike repair will be from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; and the Tree Commission will be featured in the City Tent from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Vendor of the Week: Pokey Creek Farm is a 7 acres organic farm located in Santa, ID. Product highlights include: beets, bok choy, broccoli, bulbs, plant starts, salad greens, herbs, potatoes, onions, and more. Pokey Creek Farm has been a vendor at the Moscow Farmers Market for 18 years.
Shop the Market: Area families can use EBT or SNAP benefits. Visit the Shop the Market booth at the City Tent to receive “Market Money” which vendors will accept for approved purchases.
Come and support Idaho’s oldest Farmers Market by purchasing a stainless steel water bottle or our organic cotton shopping bags. You can check them out at the City Information Tent. And, if you need help getting your purchases to your vehicle, try using one of the free market wagons.
Please remember that no animals, except for ADA service dogs, are allowed at the Moscow Farmers Market.
