The 5th Annual Christmas for Kids Store at Potlatch Elementary will take place December 14th, and organizers are asking for the public's help in making the event possible. Over 180 children were served last year by the program which allows them to do all of their Christmas shopping in an inexpensive manner. Everything is only $1 in the store, and all presents come out wrapped.

The store is run by the Jr. Farmers 4-H kids and adult leaders. "We have a strict “no adults allowed” policy. Kids get to come in shop, wrap, and get presents for everyone that they wouldn’t have been able to afford in the past," according to organizers. While the children shop, the parents have a cookie and wait. No child is turned away.

With half of the money raised, the organization then adopts a family and gives them a Christmas to remember, while the other half is used for Jr. Farmer projects.

They are asking for donations to help stock the store - items can be new or gently-used. There is always a need for wrapping paper, tape, and bows.

"Please even if you can’t help tell your neighbor, employees, friends. We are expecting over 225 kids this year and our storage room is low," organizers say.

Donations can be made through GoFundMe.com.
