Helio-Terra Captures Summer Solstice | Arts & Culture
The City of Moscow will be celebrating the one year anniversary of a public art piece that reflects the solar rhythms of Moscow on Friday, June 21.
The Helio-Terra, created by Robert M Horner, is an original construct that shows the start of summer and the cycle of the sun and harvest. It was built to commemorate the agricultural history of the city and the grain towers that frame its boarders.
Light and shadow will show the relationship between the summer solstice and harvest at sunrise. The Helio-Terra is located where Hwy 8 and Hwy 95 meet and serves as an entrance to the city.
