Free Public Concert by World Class Pianist at WSU | Arts & Culture
Pianist Eric Fung will have a free public concert at 7:30pm, Monday, June 24 in Bryan Hall at Washington State University.
Fung, a Chinese native, was awarded the title “Bach Prize Winner” by the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Germany. He was the first Chinese Pianist be awarded the title.
After a performance in 2000 in the Lincoln Center in New York, Chief Music Critic at the New York Times, Anthony Tommasini called Fung’s work “mature, refined and elegant.” He also received a doctorate of music arts from The Juilliard School .
Fung will play Bach’s “Italian Concerto”, Chopin’s first “Ballade” and pieces by Brahms and Strauss.
