University of Idaho is receiving almost $173,000 in grant funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service for four agriculture projects that will help improve technology and agriculture methods to reduce natural resource loss on croplands. Projects included an on-farm composting trial of grape pruning, insecticide application on dry bulb onions, zeolite dairy operations and subsurface drip irrigation. Washington State University has contracted Zipcar, Inc. to offer 24/7 car-sharing opportunities on its Pullman campus. The paid membership for the program offers WSU students, faculty and staff the ability to reserve and access a car. WSU members pay a $35 annual fee, and rates on campus Zipcar vehicles start as low as $8 per hour and $66 per day. The hourly and daily rates also include roadside assistance, gas, parking and up to 180 miles of driving per day.
